For the second consecutive year, Valencia has become the focus point of world tennis. The Agora of the City of Arts and Sciences has been chosen to be the host of major sport stars.
The II Valencia Open 500 will take place from October 30th to November 7th, when assistants will enjoy the performances of awesome tennis players like Andy Murray, Nikolay Davydenko, David Ferrer, Fernando Verdasco, Robin Soderling, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Tommy Robredo and Mikhail Youzhny.
Besides the main event, a wheelchair tournament has been organized. On Saturday 6th, the wheelchair open will feature the best player in this mode, the world champion from Netherlands Esther Vergeer, who will teach a playing clinic with the support of Francesc Tur and Lola Ochoa.
Along these tennis tournaments, there are parallel activities related to the Open: dining and entertainment.
Those who enjoy avant-garde Valencian cuisine should not miss the opportunity to taste the cuisine of Restaurant Maset-Ferrero, under the direction of Chef Paco Morales. The restaurant will be located inside the Prince Felipe Museum, working in two shifts: 13:30 to 15:30 and from Wednesday, will also coincide with night games. The menu costs €75 and includes four starters, five options of second dish, three varieties of rice and traditional desserts. If you purchase the Gold ticket for the games, the menu will be included at no cost.
The side entertainment options include the “Funpark”, a shopping and leisure area with tennis theme, to which is free access to anyone holding a game ticket.
Another event in the scope of the Open will be a friendly football match between former tennis players and former FC Valencia players. It will be held on November 5th in the Mestalla Stadium at 12:00. Admission is free.
