La Nao Cape in Jávea

La Nao Cape —Cap de la Nau in Valencian— is one of the most distinctive rock formations along the Mediterranean coast due to its morphology and towering sheer cliffs. It is precisely the unevenness of the way what gives it a character so appealing and so little explored.

This place is located within the town limits of Jávea, at south of the Gulf of Valencia on the easternmost point of the province of Alicante. At the foot of the cliff you will find some secluded coves with stunning coves –like Cova dels Orguens— and islets.

The Cala Sardinera (Sardine Cove) in Javea, in the province of Alicante

This photo of the week shows  the Cala Sardinera (Sardine Cove) in Javea,  in the province of Alicante. It is a cove located on the north side of Cabo San Martin, or Cabo Blanco, a natural cove and practically virgin waters, has a length of 500 meters and a width of 5 meters.

In order to get to the Cala Sardinera you need to gain access  by foot from the Mirador de la Cruz del Portitxol on the road to Cabo de la Nao, along a path that passes through a beautiful pine forest with wonderful views.

For those of you who are planning your holiday and have chosen Jávea in the province of Alicante, we have included some comments about  the beaches and coves that you can enjoy. That way you won´t find out too late that the  Playa del Arenal beach, is not the only beach available. The Arenal is a wonderful beach  and has many cafeterias and restaurants, but there are other less commercial beaches and coves that you can explore.

Whether you are a  family, a couple, if you like sports or simply sunbathing there is bound  to be a beach or cove to suit you in Jávea, as there are 9 in total.

Cala Granadella is a lovely cove with pebbles and rocks

Jávea / Xàbia is a tourist destination of great importance to the Costa Blanca,  the main attractions being it´s climate, it´s beaches and coves.

Granadella Cove is located along one of the most beautiful coastlines of Jávea and I  recommend that you visit it. The Granadella is  a beautiful rocky cove of about 220 meters in length. It is at the southern end of the municipality of Jávea next to the Granadella Castle.
