Trekking routes in Montgo
The “Meet the Montgo” program has scheduled three hiking trips for the last quarter of this year in order to promote the open air tourism and the flora and fauna appreciation at the Montgo Natural Park.
The trekking trips planned from October are the following:
The Plains of Cape San Antonio: This trip will take place on 30 October and will follow the route of the windmills, the cape viewpoints, the Flora reservoir and pine forests of the plains. This route is completely flat, making it very simple and suitable for all ages.
Views from the Montgó
On Sunday 22 May, Jávea invites you to an active tourism activity to the Montgó mountain from 09:00 h.
Besides enjoying the PR-CV 355 route, hikers will reach the top of the mountain to enjoy the fantastic views to the city and the Mediterranean Sea.
This outdoors activity, officially known as “hiking route to the Montgó mountain top”, will take about 5 hours to complete and is of medium to high difficulty. This means you might want to consider if you really want to take part in this hiking excursion through this route, also called “Cova Tallada-Santuario route”.
Trekking routes in Montgo Nature Park
By February 12th, Centre Excursionista Xàbia will be 35 years old. All this time has been dedicated to organizing tours and all kinds of mountain activities. To celebrate this anniversary, this centre will get ready some nice excursions. Take a look at the activities schedule below:
From 18th to 20th and 25th to 27thJanuary: Screening of educational outdoors activities films in schools in Jávea. Event held in cooperation with the Montgó Natural Park office. Time: 9:30 h and 11:00 h.
Views from the Montgó
The views from the summit of the Montgó towards the bay of Jávea are impressive, they are stunning views of the entire Marina Alta.
The Montgo was declared a Natural Park in 1987 and there are several marked trails follow across this natural landscape.
The photo shows a view of Jávea, an incredible panoramic view that one must see in person, but in order to do so one has to take the path that leads to the top. The Town Hall of Jávea organizes free guided tours to the top of Montgó.
Make sure you don´t forget the camera as you will definitely want to take home a souvenir of these magnificent views that stretch all the way to the island of Ibiza, and across to Cabo de San Antonio and to Cap Prim.
